A native of St. Charles, Missouri, Dr. Schaberg graduated from Valparaiso University and then attended the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Dentistry, where he received his D.D.S. degree. After two years of private general dental practice (during which time he also received a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Kansas), he moved to North Carolina to attend the residency program in Periodontics at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.
He completed his residency in Periodontics in 1983, and stayed at the University to complete a research fellowship in 1984. He then moved back to St. Louis, where he joined Dr. Kyd in the practice of Periodontics in 1984. He was also an Associate Professor of Periodontics at the Washington University School of Dental Medicine.
He currently resides in St. Louis with his wife Julie. He has two grown children, Andrew (who lives in New York) and Caroline (who lives in North Carolina.)
Dr. Campbell completed his undergraduate degree at Mizzou in 2004, then continued his dental education at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Dental School in 2008 on a scholarship from the United States Army.
After completing dental school, Dr. Campbell proceeded to further his education with the U.S. Army with a 1-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at Ft. Campbell, KY. He then was assigned to the 4th Infantry Division as a brigade dentist, and deployed for 1 year to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn. Dr. Campbell then completed his residency training in the U.S. Army Advanced Education in Periodontics program at Ft. Gordon, GA. He was one of three finalists for the Kramer Award, given to the most outstanding periodontal resident nationally. After graduating from his residency, Dr. Campbell was assigned to Ft. Sill, OK as the sole periodontist and an educator for a 1-year Advanced Education In General Dentistry program. He left the U.S. Army with the rank of Major and in total served for 9 years on active duty.
Dr. Campbell originally hails from the Kansas City area, but had family roots in St. Louis his entire life. His wife is a St. Louis native through and through, and today the majority of his family resides here. He currently has 4 children and enjoys being a husband and father, barbecuing, being an outdoorsman, and time with family and friends.
Dr. Barrett was born and raised in Oregon among the beautiful Cascade Mountains. After graduating High School he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Sill, OK. During this time he was assigned to the 212th Field Artillery Brigade, and deployed for 1 year to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.
After completion of his 4 years of military service, Dr. Barrett settled in Missouri and received an undergraduate degree from Missouri State University before continuing on to A.T. Still University – Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health where he received his dental education and obtained the degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine. During his time in dental school Dr. Barrett received awards from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Academy of Periodontology, and the humanitarian award from the International College of Dentists.
After graduation from dental school, Dr. Barrett chose to advance his career by attending a periodontal residency program at Saint Louis University. He completed residency in 2023 with a Master’s Degree in periodontics. Dr. Barrett will be joining Drs. Campbell and Schaberg at Westport Periodontics and will continue his position as adjunct faculty at Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health. He currently resides in Saint Louis with his wife Elizabeth and three young children Tristen, Kaiden and Kylie. He enjoys hockey, grilling, and spending time with family and friends.
