Dr. Travis Barrett was born and raised in the picturesque Cascade Mountains of Oregon. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. During his service, he was assigned to the 212th Field Artillery Brigade and deployed to Iraq for one year in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.
Following four years of military service, Dr. Barrett made Missouri his home. He earned his undergraduate degree from Missouri State University and went on to attend A.T. Still University – Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health, where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree. During dental school, he was recognized with multiple honors, including awards from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Academy of Periodontology, and the International College of Dentists Humanitarian Award.
Dr. Barrett further advanced his training by completing a residency in periodontics at Saint Louis University, where he earned his Master’s Degree in 2023. He joined the team at Westport Periodontics alongside Dr. Campbell and the now-retired Dr. Schaberg, and continues to serve as adjunct faculty at his alma mater, Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health.
Outside the office, he enjoys playing hockey, grilling, and spending quality time with family and friends. He and his wife, Elizabeth, recently purchased a home just across the river and now reside in Illinois with their three young children: Tristen, Kaiden, and Kylie.
Dr. Campbell and Dr. Barrett are active members of several leading professional organizations, reflecting their commitment to advancing periodontal care and staying at the forefront of dental innovation. They are both members of the American Academy of Periodontology and the American Academy of Osseointegration, which promote excellence in the specialty of periodontics and implant dentistry. They also maintain memberships with the American Dental Association and the St. Louis Dental Society, ensuring they remain connected to both national standards and the needs of the local dental community.
